IPL Before & After Care
Preparation for Treatment
- You cannot be tanned or have used tanning products or solariums for 14 days prior
- No waxing or depilatory creams prior to treatment
- Shave a few days prior to the treatment to allow a growth of 1-2mm of hair
- No exercise or activity that generates body heat for 4 hours prior to procedure
- You must not have had any injectables or by using resurfacing products (Retin A, AHA, Glycolic) within 14 days pre and post treatment
- Please discuss medical issues and medications with your therapist prior to treatment
After Care
- An SPF30+ full spectrum sun block is essential
- Avoid excessive heat for 12 hours: Exercise, saunas, hot showers
- For 24 hours avoid: soaps, deodorants, harsh chemicals. No swimming in chlorine pools.
- Avoid sun exposure and no artificial tanning products or solariums during and minimum of 14 days following treatment
- Apply ice packs if area becomes warm or uncomfortable
- Should small blisters appear, do not pop or apply creams, but they may be covered with sterile bandage.
- Allow 12 hours for skin sensitivity to ease, then singed hair can be shaved from treated areas.
